Our water ammonia absorber for air dehumidification
Rubin Glass is a large glass factory located in Pleven, Bulgaria, with more than 50 years of experience in the glass industry. It produces more than 190 million glass bottles and jars and has more than 500 employees.
Their plant manager, George Paskov, contacted us because the compressed air in the bottles must be as dry as possible, to prevent the formation of defects on the final product due to water residues in the compressed air. With traditional refrigerators that were used to dehumidify the air (air dryer), Rubin consumed too much electricity. Therefore, they wanted a more efficient and environmentally sustainable system.
We visited their factory and thought of a solution that was as ecological and efficient as possible.
We offered them our Enermatik®, the water and ammonia absorber. The absorber recovers the heat from the glassworks chimney, heats the water to +102°C which is used in the absorption cycle to cool glycol to 0°C, with a cooling capacity of 400kW.
In this way, Rubin no longer needs electricity to dehumidify the air and the heat produced during the production cycle is no longer immersed in the environment.
In addition to the absorber, we have also installed and manage the heat recovery system, smoke filtration, air dehumidification, water treatment for the ovens and we serve hot water for the showers in the locker rooms.
Everything is constantly monitored with our Telematik® remote assistance and control system.
